About

Books & Boba is a book club and podcast dedicated to spotlighting books written by authors of Asian descent. Every month, hosts Marvin Yueh and Reera Yoo pick a book by an Asian or Asian American author to read and discuss on the podcast. In addition to book discussions, they also interview authors and cover publishing news, including book deals and new releases.

About our hosts:

Marvin Yueh is a Los Angeles-based digital producer who was born in Toronto and raised in the San Gabriel Valley. Prior to becoming a full-time podcast producer, Marvin spent several years working as a producer for Kollaboration putting on live and digital events across the country supporting Asian American creatives and artists (including events at Sundance, Tribeca, and SXSW). Marvin enjoys watching and reading stories of all genres, but has a particular soft spot for Science Fiction and Fantasy (especially if they’re Asian inspired). Outside of work, Marvin is an avid traveler, eater, and consumer of pop culture of all mediums

Reera Yoo is a writer with a focus on Asian diaspora culture and entertainment. She was the former online editor of KoreAm Journal (now known as Character Media) and also contributed to publications like NBC Asian America, Audrey Magazine, and Kollaboration. She spent the last few years helping run author signings and bookish events at Vroman’s Bookstore, Southern California’s oldest independent bookstore. When Reera is not hopelessly trying to conquer her TBR pile, she watches crime documentaries and lives her best life as an ARMY and MOA.
